Shirt prices vary greatly between cotton/polyester blends and our high-end two-ply range. 100% cotton fabrics are the most versatile and can be worn in summer as well as winter. It is important to understand the difference between one ply and two ply. Both are made from 100% cotton but the difference is in the way the fabric is made. Two ply is made by twisting two individual threads together to make one yarn and because it is tightly woven it creates a very fine and strong fabric. This luxurious and durable fabric requires long fibres from raw materials such as Egyptian cotton. The weaving technique does not affect the thickness or transparency of the fabric as this depends on the choices that were made at the time of weaving. Two-ply fabric is supple, soft and hangs beautifully as well as creasing less than classic one-ply 100% cotton shirts. The great advantage of two ply cotton is that it has all the intrinsic qualities and characteristics of natural fibre and requires little ironing..
