In order to properly care for and maximise the wear of your clothes we recommend you follow the care instructions below :
Washing :
- We recommend you wash your shirt at 30 degrees.
- Don't forget to take out the collar stays if they are removable.
Drying :
- Do not tumble dry. This causes wear and shrinkage.
- Dry in open air. This will leave your shirt crisp and fresh.
Ironing :
- Do not starch: Starch deteriorates the fibres and dilutes the colour.
- Check the bottom of your iron for oxidization and a smooth surface so when you use it you wont deteriorate the edges of your collar and cuffs.
Shrinkage :
- We take shrinkage into account when we create your clothes. After two or three washes, shirts (in particular cotton shirts) will reach their normal size.
- Some shrinkage is normal.
- Check the bottom of your iron for oxidization and a smooth surface so when you use it you wont deteriorate the edges of your collar and cuffs.
Treating stains :
- If you have a spot on your shirt try removing it with absorbant paper towelling.
- Do not rub it. That will cause it to spread and dry.
- Regardless of the type of spot, do not let it dry…
- For ink stains: dab with methylated spirits.
- For egg yolk stains: use soap with tepid water.
- For egg white stains: rub with cold water.
- For fat stains : rub cornstarch into the stain, let it sit for at least 20 minutes, and then brush it off with a dry washcloth or soft dry brush.
- For coffee stains: rub with soap.
- For fruit stains: wash with cold water. But the result is seldom perfect…
- For blood stains: wash with cold or tepid water, never hot water.
